FORTIFIED Roofing Certification
FORTIFIED Home™ Program (IBHS): One of the most valuable credentials in coastal North Carolina is being an authorized FORTIFIED Roof™ installer. This program was developed by the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS) to help homes better withstand hurricanes, hail, and high winds.
What It Means: A FORTIFIED-certified roof isn’t just “code compliant.” It’s built to a higher standard. The program requires specific installation techniques, such as sealed roof decks, stronger nailing patterns, enhanced edge protection, and wind-rated materials. Roofers must be trained and authorized by IBHS to install these systems.
Why It Matters for Homeowners: In North Carolina, especially along the coast, a FORTIFIED roof can significantly reduce the risk of storm damage. Many insurance companies even offer premium discounts for homes with a FORTIFIED designation.
FORTIFIED Advantage: Because our company is an experienced, authorized FORTIFIED installer, homeowners know they’re hiring a roofer who not only meets state and manufacturer standards but also has the specialized training to build a roof proven to perform better in severe weather. This sets us apart from roofers who only meet minimum code requirements.
